FAQs
What are your class prices?
Our pricing is designed to be affordable, with options like drop-in rates, class packages, and monthly subscriptions. Please visit our Pricing page for current packages.
What should I bring?
Bring a yoga mat, comfortable clothing you can move in, a water bottle, and a willingness to learn. We also provide mats and props for your convenience.
Do I need to book classes in advance?
We recommend booking in advance to secure your spot, especially for popular classes. You can easily reserve your place through our website or by contacting the studio directly.
What facilities do you offer?
We have a small bathroom that can be used to change, and cubbies for your belongings. We do not have showers.
What if I'm not flexible?
Yoga is not about being flexible. It's about being present and connecting with your body. Our classes are designed to help you build strength and flexibility over time. As one of my teachers always used to say, practice in the body you have today.
What if I'm new to yoga?
Our classes are open to all levels. Our instructors will provide modifications and variations to help you find a practice that works for you. Amy teaches a Foundations and Stretch class on Tuesday evenings specifically for students new to yoga or coming back from a hiatus.
What if I have an injury?
Let your instructor know about any injuries or limitations before class. They will provide modifications to help you practice safely.
What if I'm pregnant?
Let your instructor know if you are pregnant. They will provide modifications to help you practice safely.
What if I'm running late?
Our doors open 15 minutes before class. If you arrive after class has started, please be conscious of the other students and enter quietly.
What if I need to leave early?
Let your instructor know before class. We ask that you quietly leave before Savasana.
What does namaste mean?
The word "Namaste" is used both as "hello" and "good bye" in India and literally means "I bow to you."
In yoga, it acknowledges the recognition that all people are one in the universe. It is traditionally spoken to close a yoga class, however, it is entirely up to you if you wish to speak it.
Do I have to "OM"?
The practice of chanting in yoga is a personal decision. If you are not comfortable chanting "om," then just listen respectfully. No one will judge you.
How often should I practice Yoga?
No matter your current level of fitness and familiarity with yoga, it is always wise to listen to you body and "practice in the body you have today."
If you are new to yoga, it is wise to ease into it. You can start by doing 1 session per week and work your way into a more frequent practice over time.
If you are familiar with yoga or are fairly physically active, you can practice yoga as much as every day.
No matter what, listen to what your body is telling you. Your practice is yours; if your body is feeling overtaxed, honor your body and take time off.
Can I practice inversions if I have my period?
There is no medical or scientific evidence that being upside down will affect your period in any way. Remember, astronauts in zero gravity do menstruate, and they don't have any problems doing so.
That being said, if you tend to get dizzy or light headed at all when you have your period, it is best to skip inversions.
